How is it utilized by the INTEGRIS Medical Library
Though used daily by pharmacy staff and other clinicians, library staff use it only when diving deep into drug information as part of some request.  Library staff troubleshoots access problems for users on their personal devices.  Items in reference lists are connected to library resources through our EBSCO Full Text Finder product - this provides one click access to full text information sources

Suggestions

  • Cost Sharing
    • Share the cost of LexiComp with the pharmacy.
    • The library staff does not often use this resource.
  • Purchase in Components
    • Claudia Hampton in the pharmacy has been a contact for this product and works closely with our LexiComp representative.  She would be more familiar with upgrading or downgrading this product
  • Other product options
    • Micromedex was a drug resource used in the past but discarded in favor of LexiComp
    • Other products devote a minor amount of coverage to drug information and ar not primarily pharmacy focused
